Searching for print and electronic books

Search for books and journal articles using the library website: http://library.lincoln.ac.uk

It is recommended that you log in to the library website before you begin searching.  You can do this by clicking on the 'My Account' tab, selecting 'Students and staff' and entering your university email address (yourstudentIDnumber@students.lincoln.ac.uk) and your Blackboard password. 

Search tip: If looking for a specific book, type the author's surname and keywords from the title of the book in the search box.

Can't find what you need online?

If you Scan and send imagefind something that you would like to read that isn't available electronically you can request a chapter or article using the library's Scan and Send* service. 

*You may only request up to one chapter or article from a book or journal issue. These limits are governed by copyright legislation, and you will be required to complete a copyright declaration when making your request.

Creating an EBSCOhost account

You can save searches, article and books when you use the 'advanced search' on the library website.

You will need to create an account the first time you use it, click on the video below to find out how to create an EBSCOhost account.

Your online reading list

SCONUL Access Scheme

The SCONUL Access scheme offers students registered at the University of Lincoln access to other UK higher education libraries.

Most part-time, distance learning and placement students (Band B) will receive access and potentially borrowing rights through the SCONUL Access scheme.

Online application

  • Go to SCONUL Access 
  • Select what kind of user you are: Distance Learner
  • Select where you are studying: Lincoln
  • Select the Library that you would like to access: use either the map or the list
  • From the pop-up screen, click on the 'Apply for access' button
  • Complete the online application form. 

You will be sent an email notification to say that your application is being processed and, when approved, you will receive an email confirmation.  Please follow the instructions in the email confirmation.

Please note that this is only available for UK based students.
