Support for students

Our Library staff provide a wide range of practical support for students through drop-ins, workshops, and individual appointments. We offer subject support, including finding or using resources and referencing, and learning development support for academic writing, maths and statistics. Our wellbeing team can help with collecting books and using assistive technology, and our customer service staff are available until midnight Monday to Thursday and until 5pm Friday to Sunday.

We also run events throughout the year to help you #StudyHappy. These have included free massages, tea and cookies, guide dogs, treasure hunts and competitions. What will we think up for you this year?

#StudyHappy

In this video Hannah, who graduated with us in 2018 and went on to become our Library Media Intern before taking on a permanent position as a Library Assistant, provides tips on how to #StudyHappy.

More than just books

At the heart of student life is the University’s Great Central Warehouse Library, providing access to more than 250,000 journals and 400,000 print and electronic books as well as databases and specialist collections. The library is open 24/7 for the majority of the academic year and expert staff are on hand to help you navigate resources. Inside the Library you will find flexible spaces for group and individual study. You can use the PCs and Macs, bring your own device or borrow a laptop, and there are printing facilities on each floor.
