International Student Guide: Academic Writing Support

The university library gives a warm welcome to all international students, especially to new students who in the UK for the first time.

About us

Academic Writing Support is available to all University of Lincoln students.

We can give you help with:

  • Grammar and punctuation
  • Using your reading in your assignments
  • Critical thinking
  • Developing an argument and structuring your work
  • Conventions for academic writing such as essays, reports, reviews and reflective writing.

Please remember that our role is to give you support and guidance to improve but we can’t edit or proof-read your work.

How to get help

To get the best out of your appointment, it would be helpful if you could bring some of your written work with you, such as marked assignments or a draft of work in progress - but don't worry if you don't have anything to bring!

We offer individual appointments. You can book an appointment (click on the blue "make an appointment" button to the right of this page!)

Alternatively, you can drop-in to the Learning Development room on the ground floor of the Library at the following times:

  • Monday 11.00 -13.00
  • Wednesday 12.00 - 14.00
  • Thursday 14.00 -16.00
