EndNote 21 allows you to create coloured tags which can be used as a visual organisation tool for items in your reference library
To create a tag:
- Click on the + sign next to My Tags in the left hand menu
- In the pop-up box give the tag a name and select a colour then click on Create Tag
- Your tag will now appear under My Tags
To add a tag to a reference:
- In All References select a reference
- Right click on the reference and select Manage Tags from the drop-down menu
- In the pop-up box select the tag(s) you would like to add to that reference
- Click on OK
You will now be able to see the coloured tag(s) next to your reference
To view all items with the same tag:
- In the left hand menu click on My Tags
- Select the tag you wish to view
- All items with this tag will appear in the centre panel
