Research Services

This guide provides an overview of the support the library can provide at all stages of the research process. The library is committed to providing support to PGR students and researchers, helping them produce high quality impactful research that aligns with the University’s goals in relation to research and knowledge transfer.

The library has a dedicated Research Services Librarian who can be contacted through the Research Librarian inbox.

Research Services Librarians can assist with: 

  • Open Access compliance (REF and other funder mandates)
  • Choosing a compliant route to publication (including transformative agreements)
  • Open research (including research data management)
  • Understanding metrics and research impact
  • Understanding licensing and copyright

Learning and Teaching Librarians can provide advice and training on:

  • Identifying and selecting subject-related databases
  • Identifying and selecting subject-related grey literature resources, e.g. ongoing research, conferences and theses
  • Developing and improving search strategies
  • Setting up search alerts
  • Managing references
  • Finding full-text
