Accessing the Libraries

Barriers

The main library building has barriers that require a student card to enter. These barriers are accessible for wheelchair users.

If you would like help navigating the barriers staff are always available at the library help desk, which is to the left of the barriers.

Forgotten cards

If you have forgotten your card there is a machine to your left as you walk into the library that prints temporary passes in the foyer.

Support dogs

Guide dogs are allowed in the library building. If entering with a guide dog, we recommend letting our staff know at the help desk.

Support staff and carers

Carers or support staff may enter the library as visitors or apply for associate reader status. For information on how to enter the library as a visitor and how to apply for associate reader status please click check our associate reader information.

Library Amenities at Brayford Campus

Parking

Approach routes to the library have drop down kerbs and flat, well-lit paths. There are two parking bays within 50 metres of the Library for Blue badge holders and further parking within 200 metres on campus.

Lifts

The Library has two internal lifts that service all four floors and there are level thresholds throughout the building.

The lifts will not work in the event of an emergency but there are designated refuges, phones, evacuation chairs and trained staff to assist.

Accessible Toilets

Disabled toilet facilities are available on every floor.

Low Level PCs

Low level computers with wheelchair access are available on the ground floor.

Quiet Room

We have a dedicated silent study room in UL111 on the first floor with individual study spaces.
