Help and support

The library provides lots of support to help you transition to university life and independent learning.  Take time to find out about the different types of help and support available before you start at university.  This will not only save you time if you do need assistance but it will also reassure you that you are not alone.

There are three teams within the library who are available online or in person:

  • Each subject has a dedicated Academic Subject Librarian who can show you how to access and use the library's resources.  In addition to this they can offer support with referencing.  Subject Librarians work closely with tutors to ensure that the resources recommended are available.
  • Writing Development are available to help you with academic writing.  They can support you at any stage of the writing process.
  • MASH (Maths & Stats) provide support with maths and stats as well as software such as SPSS.
