About EndNote

EndNote is a piece of reference management software that allows you to create your own personal reference database for your assignments, dissertation and research projects by importing information from online sources, such as the library websitejournal article databases, and Google Scholar.

You can organise and manage your references, and automatically create in-text citations whilst writing, along with a corresponding reference list/bibliography in your selected citation style.

EndNote is available to all University of Lincoln staff and students.

EndNote X9 or EndNote 20?

Two versions of EndNote are currently available:

EndNote 20 logo EndNote 20 - the latest version, accessed through the EndNote app in AppsAnywhere. We'd recommend EndNote 20 to those who are completely new to EndNote and have not already created an EndNote library of saved references.

EndNote X9 logoEndNote X9 - this is the older version, available as a download to your own devices, or accessed via the Software Centre on University networked computers. If you are already a user of EndNote X9 we recommend that you continue to use this version to avoid any synchronisation issues.
