How do I search for ebooks?

Search for ebooks and journal articles using the library website: http://library.lincoln.ac.uk

It is recommended that you log in to the library website before you begin searching.  You can do this by clicking on the 'My Account' tab, selecting 'Students and staff' and entering your university email address (yourstudentIDnumber@students.lincoln.ac.uk) and your University password. 

Search tip: If looking for a specific book, type the author's surname and keywords from the title of the book in the search box. 

How do I access ebooks?

If you find a book that is available electronically it will have a Log in to ebook here link:  

Access the ebook by:

  1. Clicking on the Log in to e-book link 
  2. You will be asked for a username and password.  This is your Blackboard (Bb) log in: your username is your student ID number (numbers only) and your Bb password.

PLEASE NOTE: If the book is provided by Dawsonera it may be available to download for a maximum of 3 days (this depends on individual titles).  MyiLibrary books are available to read online ONLY. 

You are limited by the number of pages you can print.

If you are struggling to read an ebook:

  • Please check that you have Adobe Reader installed on your machine.  You can download it for free here.
  • Try an alternative browser e.g. Google Chrome, FireFox or Internet Explorer. 

Are all books available electronically?

No, not all books are available electronically; the publisher decides if a textbook will be made available electronically and whether that book can be accessed online or downloaded.
