This guide provides Stellenbosch-based students, studying on a distance learning course at the University of Lincoln, information on the Library and its resources.

Please note that Stellenbosch students registered on a course at the University of Lincoln are entitled to access the electronic resources only.

Getting started: accessing the University's online resources

If you can access Blackboard you have already activated your University of Lincoln computer account so you should be able to access the Library's online resources.

If you need to activate your account (to access Blackboard and the Library's resources):

  1. Click here
  2. Type your username (Account ID - numbers e.g.. 12345678)
  3. Type your date of birth (in the format monthddyy e.g.. september1575) in the old password box
  4. Type in a new password
  5. Confirm your new password.

Your Username and new password will now give you access to Blackboard and the electronic resources (ebooks and ejournals) available via the Library website.

If you do not know your Account ID number you can request it via email: Workbasedlearning@lincoln.ac.uk

Blackboard

Blackboard is the University of Lincoln's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).  It provides access to your course material.

You will need to enter your Account ID and password (please see information under the 'First time here?' button if you have never logged on to Blackboard before).
