Unfortunately you are unable to borrow print books from the University of Lincoln. 

You may be able to borrow books from your local university library; contact your local university library to see if they will allow you to join as an external member.  

The library has a large collection of ebooks that you can access and, in some cases, download for a number of days or hours (depending on the title).

The Library website is mobile friendly and has an easy to use search facility.  

Go to http://library.lincoln.ac.uk to access it:

Search tip #1: When looking for a specific book, type the author's surname and name of the book in the search box above and click on Search.

Search tip #2: Limit your search to ebooks only by selecting eBooks from the list of Source Types (left hand side of the results screen). 

How do I download ebooks onto an Apple iOS and Android device?

Please note: only ebooks supplied by Dawsonera can be downloaded.  

How do I access e-books?

If you find a book that is available electronically it will have a Log in to ebook here link:  

Access the ebook by:

  1. Clicking on the Log in to e-book link 
  2. If you are not already logged on you will be asked to enter your student email address (studentIDnumber@students.lincoln.ac.uk) and your Blackboard password.

PLEASE NOTE: If the book is provided by Dawsonera it may be available to download for a maximum of 3 days (this depends on individual titles).  MyiLibrary books are available to read online ONLY. 

You are limited by the number of pages you can print.

If you are struggling to read an ebook:

  • Please check that you have Adobe Reader installed on your machine.  You can download it for free here.
  • Try an alternative browser e.g. Google Chrome, FireFox or Internet Explorer.
