Installing EndNote and creating your library

Install EndNote

EndNote X9 is available for download from:

  • ICT's software for home use. Use this to install EndNote X9 to your laptop for use on- and off-campus
  • The Software Centre on any networked campus University of Lincoln PC or Mac

Once installed you need to:

Create Your Library (create a folder that all your references are saved to):

  • Open EndNote
  • In the EndNote menu, select File then New
  • Give your library a name (defaults to My EndNote Library) and choose where to save it on your computer
  • Click on Save

You are now ready to start adding references to EndNote

 

Please note: we recommend creating a single EndNote Library rather than multiple ones to avoid issues with the write and cite functions
