Learning Development: Study Skills

banner containing wooden tiles that displays the word LEARN

During your time at university, you will be required to develop skills that will enable you to successfully complete your course.  These skills are known as study skills.  The term 'study skills' suggests that they are skills required whilst studying; however, this is not the case, many of the skills are more than just academic skills. These skills include:

  • Self-management
  • Academic
  • People
  • Task-management

All of the above will contribute to your achievement in not only your learning, but also your work and personal life.

In addition to your learning, you have access to support and resources that will help you achieve these skills. Academic Subject LibrariansWriting Development and MASH (Maths and Statistics Help) offer workshops and appointments on a variety of resources and study skills support.
