Study skills (Learning Development)

Research skills

Research skills are the ability to find, evaluate, analyse and synthesize information from various sources. They are essential for higher education, as they enable you to conduct independent research, write academic papers, and participate in scholarly discussions. Research skills also help you develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, which are valuable for your future career and personal growth.

The library provides access to a diverse collection of databases which contain a wealth of resources. You can search the databases individually or simultaneously using the search box/advanced search on the library homepage. Contact your Academic Subject Librarian for support with accessing and using the library's resources. If you use Google Scholar, install tools to help you find the full text of the source.
