If you find a journal article that you would like to read, as long as the University subscribes to the journal, you will be able to access it by entering your student email address and your (Canvas) password.
Your student email address is your student ID followed by @students.lincoln.ac.uk
If you are unable to access the full text of a journal article, please email Helen Williams, your Subject Librarian
When viewing the details of an information source, if you see the option to the right of the screen for a permalink, click on this to get the permanent link (rather than copying and pasting the link in the address bar).
The link in the address bar will break when you close the window because it contains information about the search session rather than the record.
You can access journal articles recommended by your tutor via your online reading list (search by module code or title or access it via the link in Canvas). Click on the 'View Online' link.
Search for journal articles using the library search box
Help with searching for journal articles:
You can refine your results by using the options on the left of the results screen:
You can also add additional keywords to the search box but, be aware that you will lose the options that you selected.
When you have found an article that you are interested in:
If you have a reference to a journal article, see if it is available in full-text electronically by searching for the title of the journal (not the article) on the Electronic Journals.
If the journal is not available you can request a photocopy of the article via the University's Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service.
Everything that you need to complete your modules should be available online; however if, when doing independent research, you find something that you would like to read that isn't available electronically you can request a chapter or article using the library's Scan and Send* service.
*You may only request up to one chapter or article from a book or journal issue. These limits are governed by copyright legislation, and you will be required to complete a copyright declaration when making your request.
Keep up-to-date with current research by subscribing to journal alerts.
JournalTOCs is a free service which allows you to set up alerts to any new articles published by business and management journals.
You can save searches, article and books when you use the 'advanced search' on the library website.
You will need to create an account the first time you use it, click on the video below to find out how to create an EBSCOhost account.
