Discover and develop the essential skills for academic success

Assignment planning & structure

Planning is an essential part of any academic piece of work: a good plan will ensure that you cover all the elements of the assessment brief in a well-structured logical order. Your assignment brief will often indicate the preferred structure, and the materials in this section will provide further guidance on typical structures for different types of assignment. You will need to plan your time effectively by working back from the submission date to allow enough time for researching, planning, drafting, writing, editing, and proof-reading your work.
