Musical Theatre

This is a guide to using the library to study musical theatre.

Finding Scores in the Library Collection

The best way to find vocal scores and other sheet music is to use the main library catalogue. Here are some steps that can help:

  1. Make sure to select the 'Find Books' radio button, as this will limit your search to scores, which are shelved with the library's book collecton
  2. Try multiple search terms. It helps to start with the title of the musical, but if that doesn't work, trying search for the lyricist or composer too.
  3. Looking to browse the library's collection of vocal scores? With 'find books' selected, click on advanced search. Then select 'subject' from the drop-down menu, and browse for the words 'Musicals Vocal scores'. Viola! Scores at your fingertips.

If you are struggling to find a score, please contact your subject librarian for help.
