Support for Academic Staff

Welcome banner with the photo of the University Library

This guide for academic staff provides information on how the Library can:

  • support your teaching
  • support your students
  • support your research

Your main contact within the Library is your Academic Subject Librarian.  Please contact them if you have any queries about any of the information on this guide.

Finding resources available from the library

Use the Library search to identify what print and electronic resources we have access to.  This searches our catalogue and some, but not all, of the electronic databases subscribed to by the University. The advanced search provides more options to build and refine your search.

More resources can be accessed from the Find menu of the Library website.  These include:

  • Subject Guides - specific library guides for your subject including databases and relevant websites.
  • Databases – specific electronic databases available from the Library can be searched individually.
  • Electronic Journals – check if the Library has electronic access to specific journal titles.
  • Ebooks – Ebook databases available from the Library.
