Manually adding a reference

If you have a reference and there is not an option to export it to RefWorks you can add the details of the reference manually.

From within RefWorks, click on the Add + option and select Create new reference

This will open a form on the right of the screen.

Select the reference type (book, journal article, website etc.) from the drop-down menu and fill in the relevant boxes.

You have the option to add a file attachment that you have saved.  Once an attachment is added it is possible to read it within RefWorks and annotate it if required. 

If you need to add additional fields to those displayed, you can click on the Add more fields button and either search for the required field or scroll down the list to see the options available.

When you have finished, click on Save and the reference will be added to your RefWorks account.
